Designers of the Week 12/29/07 December 29, 2007

I’ll forewarn you now, this is going to be a long post!  I have a tendency to put in too much stuff so, I’ll apologize ahead of time.  Unless you love shopping as much as I do then:  you’re welcome.  hehe  Anyhow, here’s the first of my hopefully-weekly designers posts.  Enjoy!

I found these skins, by Annyka Bekkers, at a fashion show a few weeks back by Second Style…you can see the pics from that in a previous post.  I found one I kinda liked on my shape and also picked up her super cheap ones…the natural beauty skins are currently marked at the super cheap price of L$49.

Just found this hair designer recently, Truth Hawks.  I love her stuff!  The textures are very nice and the styles are great too.  I realized after taking these pictures that I only bought ponytail styles, lol…she does have many more styles than this though.

Eyes Designer:  BabyDoll’s (BabyDoll 102, 143, 23)

The fashion show I was in recently for BabyDoll LaFontaine of BabyDoll’s, she gave me a pair of eyes to wear with the outfit and I immediately fell in love with them.  So I had to go back and buy more.  They come with the normal pupil as well as cat-eye and dilated pupil options.

And last but certainly not least the designs of my very dear friend Chasha Garfield and her co-designer DragonJoli Gray.  They really have an eye for style and have helped us out with clothes we need for our shapes at Body Doubles several times, where Chasha still models for us!  And I get all Chasha’s stuff she makes for free!!  Thank you my sweet French Wiggler friend, hehe.

There are some nice people in SL… December 27, 2007

Of course I knew this…I have some amazing friends that would bend over backwards and have for me…but just random people in SL, its nice when they help you out.  Granted this may be something very small and insignificant but still!  I was shopping at Muse, trying to decide what to use my gift card on that I’d received for Christmas from one of my wonderful friends and someone IM’d me telling me I needed to rebake.  LOL  Now this may seem silly, but its always something I’m worried about….I hate the thought of possibly being out in public, or even at all, with missing textures or ruthed.  And of course I looked fine on my screen but apparently to others I didn’t.  So a quick rebake and going into appearance mode fixed the problem.  So, I’m now making it my goal to help out the fashion world and others who are as vain as I apparently am, lol, to tell anyone I see ruthed or missing textures that they might want to rebake.  Goodness knows if you’re a model or just concerned about your appearance, you would probably appreciate the tip too.

If you happen to ENJOY missing textures, I did see somewhere in SL where you can actually purchase them to wear…I’m not in world right now but next time I am, I’ll see if I can find the spot and add a link here for you just in case you might be so inclined.  Anyhow, thats my ramblings for the day…have a good weekend everyone!

BabyDoll’s Christmas Costumes & Sexy Lingerie Fashion Show December 19, 2007

I had the honor of being in a fashion show this past Monday for BabyDoll LaFontaine’s shop, through the modeling agency I just joined, BePleased.  We had a lot of fun, despite the terrible lag (it isn’t a fashion show without lag) and we have lots of great outfits now too!!!  I want to say a special thank you to BabyDoll for allowing us to showcase her beautiful and sexy designs and also to Carla, Kylie and the BePleased Staff for putting together such a great event and of course to my fellow models for making it lots of fun!!  Thanks too to my friend good friend Lyra who was there to support me!  …and to everyone who attended!  Here are some pics from the show, taken by Alisia Student…thanks for getting us these great shots!

 

              

My Favorite Blog Right Now December 19, 2007

I’m often looking for new SL blogs to add to my favorites list, and today I ran across this great one by Milla Michinaga.  It is similar to another blog I like to keep up with and submit to occasionally…Closet Crisis.  She takes pieces of different outfits and puts them together to create a unique look.  Its really well done, and her pictures are so clear and make you…or at least me….want to go out and buy everything in them!  Anyhow…here’s the link (which I’ve also added to my Blogroll):  http://michami.net/blog/  Enjoy!

A few photographers in SL… December 19, 2007

There are so many photographers in SL…some are just wanna-be’s, but some are really talented.  I’ve had photos done by a few and thought I’d post an example of their work here.  I’ve enjoyed working with all of them, but will let you be the judge of their talent.  Maybe you’ll even find a new spot to get some photos done.  I’ll start with the most recent pictures I had done and work back from there.  The picture probably isn’t as sharp on here, since I had to download it from SL first…  You can see more examples of some of their work on my flickr page at:  http://flickr.com/photos/sariellaashton/
