Pink Floyd in SL January 25, 2008

I attended a concert this last week…a virtual version of Pink Floyd.  It was very well put together, the stage was amazing, with lots of great visual effects. They had Lyra Blackthorne (co-owner of Body Doubles, along with myself and Persia Christensen) make a couple of the Pink Floyd shapes custom for them and she did an amazing job!  We’re also going to be working with them to make band members for other RL bands as well.

Bobby Fallon is the creator and designer of the Virtual Pink Floyd Tour.  He is planning on doing other concerts too of other bands, which is where we come in to make him the shapes.  You can contact his band manager, RayO Raymaker in world for more details.  Also, you can check them out on youtube.com at http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=q2Qipar–FE .

Here are a few snap shots I took last week.

Gallery Reception for GM Nikolaidis and Sky Hye January 22, 2008

My good friend, and a wonderful photographer, GM Nikolaidis and his lovely wife, Barbara Nicholls invited me to the grand opening of GM and Sky Hye’s photo gallery this past weekend.  It was such a lovely event!  There were several in attendance and we all enjoyed the soothing piano music provided by RockPianoman Pienaar.  I had not met Sky before, but I did know from experience that GM’s work was fantastic.  It was beautiful to see again.  He has done some shoots for me in SL, but the work displayed in his gallery is from RL.  He has a unique eye for style, feel and arangement of a photograph, I feel.  The colors that come out in his photos, the alignment of the pictures…the whole feel is just beautiful and I had to purchase at least one for my house.  They are photos I can look at over and over and enjoy the serenity they give.

Sky’s work is more painting…and it too is beautiful!  Some of her work almost has a Monet-feel to it…although its been a while since I was in art school, so I could be off!  I particularly liked the  series of work she had along the back wall…just small prints…one of which I picked up was a shell lying in the sand.  I want to go back and get more from both of them!!

Be sure to check them out for yourself…they are located at centro italia (63, 161, 22).

Here are a few shots from the event:

Unveiling Fashion Show January 16, 2008

Metro Models hosted Unveiling fashion show this past Saturday, featuring designs by OPIUM Everyday, skins from SKIN 2.0 and hair styles by Calla.  There were free gifts and all the item from the clothing desinger, Alaska Metropolitan, were up for sale along the sides…which myself and several others took advantage of.  nemi McCoy the host stated that OPIUM Everyday was “a line of casual to business fashion tailored for mixing and matching and making your own.”  The items being shown were both new and older designs, to celebrate the opening of the new store on Le Zoo (195, 233, 22).  Enjoy!

The stage…simple yes excellent for showing the designs.

My house was in desparate need of some lanscaping…and my friend Lyra very kindly pointed this out by handing me a LM to a great place for sculpted trees, water and rocks.  I went to check it out, hoping to find at least one little tiny shrub to make my poor front yard look at least a little less dreary.  When I landed and rezzed, I was already in awe.  The sim itself is absolutely gorgeous.  Kriss Lehmann is an artist for sure with sculpting prims.  I wanted to buy everything in sight but of course none of what I landed near was for sale there.  To get to the area with the items for sale, if you’re not lazy and fly there, you walk through beautiful trees with sunlight coming through the branches…over bridges that lead over rushing little rivers.  Later after shopping (and finding more than one thing I wanted of course), I explored the sim a bit more.  It is absolutely gorgeous.  It is very well done and took someone a LOT of time…not only in creating the items but in arranging them as well.  I highly suggest going and exploring for yourself.  It is located on Straylight (25, 239, 52).  The trees I bought are scripted, so that they have leaves falling off and covering the ground below as well as the tree swaying in the breeze.  The leaves falling can be shut off if you wish, by a simple click of the tree.  Anyhow, I took some pictures around the sim and a couple of the things for sale as well.  But go check it out for yourself.  Here they are:
